On March 2nd, Five of our students, Dallas Moreno, Le'aira White, Devon Jones, Dkayvion Stadford, and Louis Stewart, traveled to Indianapolis to compete in a spoken word competition, and they represented our school with remarkable talent and poise.
The theme for this years competition was I THINK. I SPEAK. I AM. This year’s Spoken Word theme is based on the knowledge that we are all thinking creatures. When we think and then choose the words to speak, we are using language and it is when we speak the words we dream and become who we truly want to be.
Each of these students created original pieces and delivered performances that exceeded our expectations. Dallas and Lee even competed as a team and achieved a remarkable 3rd place, a significant accomplishment!
Please take a moment to congratulate these students when you see them. It was no small feat for them to get up on stage and share such personal pieces, and their success is a testament to their hard work and dedication.
