The students here at Horizon Science Academy did an amazing job during our Black History Celebration program held Friday, February 22, 2013. Opening with the US national anthem and ending with the Black national anthem Lift Every Voice and Sing, students were entertained as the dance team showed off their hard work by performing for the crowd. Kim Johnson, veteran radio personality for WZAK, 93.1 FM, spoke to the students and staff about black history and even brought special prizes for students that were able to correctly answer black history questions. In a moment of remembrance, the crowd was able to listen to an excerpt from one of Dr. Kings speeches. Overall, the program was a huge success and much appreciation goes out to our Dean Robertson for his hard work on the program.
