CYSP Detroit Trip

Mr. Yalvac and his CYSP team (Mario, Keyshawn, Christian and Joshua) took a trip to Detroit on October 14, 2019. It was a nice, partly sunny day. First, they arrived at the University of Michigan Dearborn campus and Dr. Yunus, Associate Professor – Mathematics Department, welcomed them to the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters. He showed them the campus, gym, cafeteria and most importantly the research that he and his fellow students completed in recent years. After the college visit, they tasted delicious Lebanese food in Dearborn. Next stop was one of the Concept Schools in Detroit, Michigan Math and Science Academy. Mr. Yurdakal, Assistant Principal, guided them to the school and everyone played basketball at one of the courts – the school has 4 parallel courts next to each other. Their last stop was Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and GM Renaissance Center. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful day in Detroit.
