Welcome back to the 2016-2017 school year at Horizon Science Academy- Cleveland High School! We are looking forward to a great school year with strong academics, many activities and a few changes.
As the new principal, I’d like to share a little bit about myself and my goals for HSA this year. I come to HSA Cleveland HS from Anne Arundel Schools in Maryland, where I served in different administrator capacities for more than 10 years. I previously taught Mathematics and I love the charter schools and what they offer to their students. My wife, three sons and I live in Lorain, where my sons attend Horizon Science Academy. We enjoy traveling and look forward to exploring the Cleveland area more.
My two goals for HSA Cleveland High students are a safe environment where they can receive the best education they deserve and to attend and graduate from a college to serve this nation using their education and experiences to make the world a place they can make a difference in. They have the ability to make their mark in so many ways, I hope to help them find a passion through their classes or activities that helps them to get where they want to go.
As we begin the new school year, we are looking forward to all that the school year offers for students and HSA families. Students are currently taking EOC tests and starting to delve into the real content of their classes. Fall Sports are in full swing with the Boys’ Soccer team and Girls’ Varsity and Junior Varsity Volleyball team playing several times a week. Clubs, Activities and Tutoring are all starting and plans for dances and other events throughout the year are in the works. Please encourage your students to get involved in at least one sport or club as well as to work hard and do their best in their classes.
I look forward to a great year at HSA Cleveland High!
