Congratulations to senior Aaliyah Muhammad, she just accepted her scholarship offer to the University of Chicago, where she plans on majoring in Anthropology. Muhammad plans to continue her studies through a PhD program, where she intends to study how women are treated in primarily Islamic countries versus their counterparts in other parts of the world.
She earned a scholarship amounting to $234,820, which will cover her studies over her four years as an undergraduate student.
Muhammad is the Salutatorian of the class of 2017. She is an AP student and involved in National Honor Society and Yearbook, among other activities.
“Aaliyah has always been diligent, hardworking, and academically strong throughout her four years at HSA. Her time here has been filled with successes and honors celebrating her as the bright, energetic, compassionate and genuinely well rounded person she is.” Her counselor of four years, Orcun Cakiroglu, continued, “As a dedicated, motivated and driven young woman, I’m sure she will be successful at the University of Chicago.”
