The 2011 senior class visited Progressive insurance company headquarters along with our Junior Achievement initiative on December 1st 2010. One of senior shared her feelings about this visit. “We participated in the junior achievement program to learn about money, credit, fraud, and insurance. At Progressive we were greeted by
friendly faces ready and willing to teach us and answer our questions.
We were rewarded for our hard work with candy and chewy bars. We enjoyed pizza, salad, cookies and the company of Progressive employees at lunch.”
HSA Denison Visit with Senoirs
Her World hosted by Devry University November 12th, 2010
Devry University hosted Her World Friday November 12, 2010. Fifteen of our senior ladies attended this function where they participated in skill-building activities, heard from successful women in the community; learned about exciting career paths as they began charting their future in business and technology. It was an inspiration event that was followed by a wonderful luncheon. The beautiful setting of the Cleveland Renaissance Hotel gave our modern progressive young women a taste of the 1920’s nostalgia. It was an awesome day to be a woman!
College fairs are very informative and even fun. College fairs give the students the chance to talk to admissions officers and get the scoop on everything, from what courses are offered to life on campus.
Fairs can also help them rule out colleges, as well as introduce themselves to new ones.
Most fairs are crowded and college fairs are no different. So, being prepared for the fair, thinking about the questions that can be asked usually helps the students benefit more.
Horizon Science Academy’s sixth Annual College Fair was held on October 22nd, 2010. We were all excited about this event as the date quickly approached for 15 colleges to attend. We invited all Ohio Colleges and some colleges outside the state. This beautiful event held on our HSA campus proved to be beneficial not only for the seniors but also for the juniors, and sophomores. Seniors, who are about to choose which college to go to, talked to the representatives of each college giving them a chance to compare them and make a better college decision, Other students who haven’t even thought of college also took time to take a look at the college fair. By visiting the colleges at each table they were able to have a better insight about the requirements for admissions for those schools in hopes to try harder to meet those requirements. College fairs have been very beneficial in getting our students into the best possible colleges. We have no doubt that this year’s fair will be just as successful.
The guidance office would like to thank all representatives of the colleges who came to our school on October 22nd which includes the following:
