SENIOR PARENT NIGHT
On Thursday, October 7, 2010, HSA held a senior parent meeting to discuss the college admissions process. Dr. Bette Bonder, Dean of Science and Health Careers at Cleveland State University, was the keynote speaker. Said HSA senior Derek Poindexter, “My mother and I attended this session. I am the first in my family to attend college and the process of applying and finding scholarships can be difficult. We are really glad we came to this meeting to learn more about ways we can streamline this procedure to make is as easy as possible for my family and me.” Guidance Director, Mr. Bulent Akbenlioglu, reminded the group that the Guidance Department stands ready and willing to help students and their families navigate the system.
